Collaboration helps keep our vital service operating and delivering food for free to where it is needed most.

One of these valuable collaborations is with SecondBite who partner with Coles  to rescue and collect donations of unsold, edible food. This partnership is just one example of how sectors are working together to improve access to nutritious meals for those in need.

Coles’ contributions have significantly expanded SecondBite’s operations, enabling them to reach more communities and reduce food waste on a national scale. That’s where Shepparton Foodshare’s collaboration with SecondBite comes in.

We collect / rescue the food from the local Coles supermarkets on behalf of SecondBite and the food we collect stays local supporting people in the regions. We also do this across other supermarkets in our region as well.

It is truly remarkable what can be achieved when working together.

Shepparton Foodshare Operations Manager Graeme was pleased to head out with Isuru of SecondBite FareShare to personally thank the supermarkets and to strengthen logistics for the food collections.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate —
the Yorta Yorta people
, and we pay our deep respects to their Elders past and present.

We also extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

.

This is Yorta Yorta Country — a place of deep cultural significance and belonging, where the rivers meet, and where knowledge, stories, and food have been passed down for countless generations.

May we walk together with respect, learn from the wisdom of Country, and continue to support one another with the same generosity and spirit that has always lived on this land.
