NEW WAREHOUSE

IMG_4954_edited.jpg

After many years of planning, lobbying for support, writing funding submissions and fundraising, Shepparton Foodshare now owns and operates from a purpose-built warehouse.

The new warehouse provides accommodation security for its food relief services that includes food rescue and receival of donations, warehousing, and distribution of food to people in need across the Goulburn Valley and beyond.

The project is a collaborative approach having received a $2,918,970 from the Victorian Government and $600,000 from the Federal Government.  A contribution toward the commercial kitchen fit out was also made by the Freemasons Foundation of Victoria.

The for purpose funds received enabled a design to improve capability and efficiencies to help keep up with increased demand for food relief.  The design meets current needs, allows for growth and better equips the community to respond in times of emergency and crisis. You can read more about the features of the facility here.

The site on which the food relief warehouse and distribution centre was built was donated by local philanthropists the Andreadis family.

The Shepparton Foodshare Board welcomed Minister Gayle Tierney MP for a turning of the sod on the of the new facility on April 19, 2024 and Jaclyn Symes MP Minister For Regional Development officially opened the facility on May 2, 2025.

Local builder, Telfords Building Systems, constructed the facility and Curo Project Management supported the management of the build and funding requirements.
