The new Shepparton Foodshare food relief warehouse and distribution centre is now open.

On Friday, May 2 2025, Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes formally opened Foodshare’s new warehouse and distribution centre in Doonan Street, that was supported by the Federal and Victorian Governments.
More than 100 people attended to celebrate and mark this momentous occasion.
The facility provides accommodation security for our vital local service.
For purpose funds received enabled a design to improve capability and efficiencies to help keep up with increased demand for food relief.
The design meets current needs, allows for growth and better equips the community to respond in times of emergency and crisis.
The improved features
Layout and work flow designed to maximise efficiency of goods in and out
Higher pallet racking to enable greater storage space
Double size freezer and cool room, reinforced to enable forklift access and reduce manual handling
Dedicated weigh station and pallet wrapping area
Automated box crusher to reduce manual handling
Climate controlled decanting room to enable safe food handling and re-packaging
Undercover all weather food delivery and collection area
Dedicated office space
Accessible lift, bathrooms and parking
Meeting room with audio visual capability for meetings, training and to use as a community facility during times of emergency and crisis
Commercial kitchen, fitted out with the support of a Freemasons Foundation grant to maximise food usage, minimise waste and as a facility for community partnerships
Energy efficient design incorporating solar and water tanks to reduce operational costs and is good for the environment
