Shepparton Foodshare volunteer and Volunteer Recognition Award Nominee.

ree

Shane's ability to support his fellow volunteers, on particularly busy days, is invaluable. Whether unloading a truck, shifting pallets in the warehouse, preparing for the next day, coordinating frozen items for agencies or mentoring other volunteers, Shane is ready to help.

He responds quickly when unexpected situations arise at short notice, such as unexpected deliveries or ensuring their is a solution if an agency has forgotten a food order for the people they support.

Shane is unlike most other volunteers in that he is not retired or semi-retired, he works full-time however his community is important to him so he still finds time to volunteer at Shepparton Foodshare several days over each fortnightly period and has been doing so for the past 7 years.

Congratulations on your nomination Shane and thank you to you and all of our volunteers for the incredible work you do in our community.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate —
the Yorta Yorta people
, and we pay our deep respects to their Elders past and present.

We also extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

.

This is Yorta Yorta Country — a place of deep cultural significance and belonging, where the rivers meet, and where knowledge, stories, and food have been passed down for countless generations.

May we walk together with respect, learn from the wisdom of Country, and continue to support one another with the same generosity and spirit that has always lived on this land.
